In
April 2007 The
Brand Farm of Innisfail, Alberta, Canada had their
2005 Welsh stallion,
Shell Crest Dusty Gold tested for the silver
gene by Animal
Genetics Inc., he was found to be carrying a copy of
the silver "Z" gene.
He is the first
purebred Welsh to be confirmed silver by testing!
He was also tested in March of 2006 by U.C. Davis to be
black.
His color markers are Ee
aa nZ
Talia Chiodo announced
that her new APHA mare Stars Angel Too, dam of Bella
below, was confirmed a silver carrier as well as a cream
carrier by UC Davis! Her test results are
Ee Aa nCr NZ - Silver Buckskin!
We believe Stars
Angel Too is the second confirmed silver by testing of
an American Paint Horse.
